Meta launched Muse Wonder and Muse Wonder Full on October 12, 2026, calling them its most capable AI models to date and saying they deliver state-of-the-art performance on personal and professional agentic tasks.

What Meta announced

In its official newsroom post, Meta said it began an overhaul of its AI efforts fourteen months ago and has gone “from rebuilding our foundations to pushing the frontier.” The Muse Wonder series builds on the groundwork Meta laid with its earlier Muse Spark models.

Availability on day one:

  • Muse Wonder is available to developers and builders through the Meta Model API and Muse Code.
  • Muse Wonder Full is available to Muse Code subscribers.
  • Muse Wonder will soon power experiences in Muse, Meta’s personal assistant, rolling out to subscribers first.

According to Meta’s research blog, both models were trained at the company’s gigawatt-scale Prometheus data center. Axios reports the models were previously known by the code name “Watermelon.”

Active Memory and Active Focus

Meta is pitching two capabilities for agents that work over long stretches of time:

  • Active Memory carries what matters about you across conversations and brings back the details that are relevant to the task at hand.
  • Active Focus keeps the model working toward a goal when a task gets hard: trying other approaches, recovering from errors, asking for clarification when needed, and checking in before following through on anything important.

Meta also highlights domain expertise in law, finance, and health, and frontier coding performance for everything from small apps to complex software.

The benchmark claims

Meta says the Muse Wonder series achieves state-of-the-art results on key benchmarks for personal and professional agents, memory, and coding, and Axios notes that Meta’s posted results show the models topping or matching the latest offerings from OpenAI and Anthropic. These are Meta’s own evaluations. Independent testing has not caught up yet.

Safety

Meta says it trained the Muse Wonder family to avoid sharing private information without permission and to turn down harmful requests, and that Muse Wonder has its strongest safeguards to date against chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, and cyber misuse. A full report with additional safety evaluations is “coming soon.”

Why it matters

This is Meta’s clearest attempt yet to compete as a frontier lab instead of mainly distributing AI through its apps. Agents that remember you and act on your behalf could be much more useful, but they also raise new privacy and security questions. The real test is whether Meta’s claimed lead holds up once outside researchers get their hands on these models.
